Pacific and Ninth – painted by Monte Thrasher

Monte named his painting, “The Battle of Los Angeles”, one of the most peculiar events the area has ever seen (and not fully explained to this day). Built around the famous February, 1942 LA Times photograph, the work depicts a very strange object, blasted by thousands of rounds of ammunition, to no avail. He is impressed by the local folks who seriously want this to be an art-packed place and loves talking about art and history.
