APM Terminal Mural
Stepping Forward, Painted by Revival Murals – Alonsa Guevara and James Razko
The San Pedro Waterfront Arts District was honored to receive this mural commission from APM Terminals, on their administration building at Pier 400.
The mural, titled Stepping Forward, was designed and painted by the Revival Murals team of Alonsa Guevara and James Razko. It spans three corrugated walls for a total of 624 square feet. Located at the rooftop patio at APM Terminals, the mural can be viewed by visitors to the building as well as from the harbor below.
Revival Murals’ mural idea submission was chosen out of eleven beautiful applications. Alonsa and James explained their concept: “This mural reimagines the relationship between industry and nature, featuring a shipping container floating on the ocean, set against a magical, futuristic landscape of LA. A glowing blue path stretches across the water, inviting viewers into an inspiring vision of possibility. Rooted in the iconic beauty of San Pedro, the piece reflects our commitment to using art as a means to spark hope and envision a brighter, more resilient future for our communities.”
APM Terminals commissioned this project as part of their ongoing mission to improve and modernize their workplace. Ashley Esparza, APM’s Landside Key Client Director, commended Revival Murals’ work: “Their ability to capture the essence of our great city against the backdrop of a beautiful sunset is truly inspiring. This statement mural will be seen by all visitors to Pier 400, showcasing the vibrant spirit of our community.”
